Playshops are typically hosted by UAEYC members and partnering organizations

Upcoming Playshops!

The purpose of UAEYC Playshops is to promote best practices throughout the state through training that is relevant, meaningful and hands-on fun!

Playshops are created by UAEYC Members and partners, in conjunction with UAEYC staff, who have identified a need or interest in their area on a specific topic. We work to bring the training local to each community utilizing both local and state professionals who provide the training.

Some ways Playshops may look are as follows:

  • Mini-conferences:  focus on bringing the best speakers from the state conference and leading edge practices to rural communities. They include several speakers for 5 hours of training, Networking, and Lunch. These are typically held on Saturdays from 8:30 am -1:30 pm.
  • Office of Child Care Career ladder approved professional development: These focus on sharing new ideas for implementing developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Locally designed Playshop

Playshop topics are unique to the needs of the community hosting them. UAEYC has 2 curriculums approved through the Career Ladder system: (1)Child Development and Guidance; and (2)Making Learning Fun. Each is 5 hours of training. UAEYC will assist in providing a Playshop on any topic needed, however. Some conducted in the past have included: Using the State's Early Learning Standards in developmentally appropriate ways;  STEM learning in the early childhood setting; Promoting DAP in the K-3 system; Promoting Language and Literacy development; and others.
